Sympathy Flowers FAQs

Which flower is most associated with sympathy?

White lilies typically take the crown for the most heartfelt sympathy flowers. Their pearly white aesthetic radiates purity and calm. Chrysanthemums also shine as top seasonal flowers for condolences, with fluffy petals that bring a quiet comfort.

What colour should sympathy flowers be?

We believe that you should give whatever colour blooms feel right to you. But traditionally, when it comes to sympathy flowers, people choose soft, muted tones. Cream and ivory suit funeral flowers and condolence flowers perfectly. Pale pink or lavender can add a gentle pop of colour. And green-filled sympathy wreath flowers can offer a soothing dash of life.

What should I say on a card with sympathy flowers?

We recommend keeping it personal and brief. Something like, 'I’m here for you today and always,' or 'Sending love and quiet strength.' Ultimately, trust your own voice. You can't go wrong if it comes straight from the heart.

What are the best types of flowers for a death in the family?

When choosing flowers for a death in the family, it's a good idea to pick blooms that are both comforting and long-lasting. White roses can feel timeless and pure. Carnations hold their shape for days, so they stay bright in a flower arrangement. And then there are orchids which add elegance, their delicate blooms nodding to resilience during tough times.
