Five Ways to Spoil your Mum on Mother’s Day

Attention mums! What is your idea of the perfect Mother’s Day? With exception to a proper sleep in, an entire new wardrobe, a full time cook/cleaner and resort holiday?

We’ve put our heads together and come up with what we believe are the top five ways to spoil your mum on Mother’s Day. Anything you would change/add to this?

1. Mothers Day Flowers (naturally!)

As florists we are a little bias, naturally we are going to choose Mothers Day flowers as our number one way to spoil mum! Delivered to your door or collected from the florist shop while you do a run into town for takeaway morning coffees. They really do make mums feel pretty special.

2. Breakfast in Bed (after a decent sleep in)

Although going out for brunch is a treat too, breakfast in bed is something that doesn’t happen that much throughout the year. Maybe with exception to your birthday. And it’s something the kids can participate in too. Might involve some under-boiled egg disasters but it’s always the thought that counts, and the fact you don’t have to get up and do you hair and make up to go out for a bite. A hand-made card on the tray is always an extra special touch.

3. A Massage, Manicure or Bubble Bath

This is a mums-only gift that can occur while the family clean and tidy the house, do all the chores etcetera. And if that’s not possible, then run mum a post-brekkie bath, put on some relaxation music, and make her another cup of tea. Finally, hand over some of her favourite magazines so she can simply chill out and soak in bubble bliss to the sound of the vacuum cleaner getting pushed by someone other than herself!

4. Lunch Out

I say lunch out, because although BBQ’s and picnics are fun for the family, unless they can be fully catered and coordinated for 100% by everyone else, it’s not all that much fun for mum! Lunch out could be family fish and chips at the beach followed by a stroll, or a family-friendly pub with a playground for the kids. Either way, it doesn’t involve any cleaning up. Like!

5. Gold Class Movie

The perfect end to the day. Hire a babysitter and enjoy a kids free date night to put your feet up and indulge in a movie of your choice, dinner served to your reclining chair, and one or two glasses of vino.

So there you have it. Our top five ways to spoil your mum for Mother’s Day!
